HotlineServers Benchmark (8GB, Montreal Location)

This is a followup post for my recent review of HotlineServers.com. Note that this post will only contain benchmarks for the 8GB plan in HotlineServers’s Montreal location. For a full review of the provider, please check out the linked post above.

Additionally, this post will also contain some additional tests for the network, like a traceroute to various locations on the internet (to determine how the routing in the location looks).

The VM being benchmarked here was generously loaned to me by @iroshan464 over at the LowEndSpirit forum. Thank you iroshan464!

For the most part, the results of the benchmarks are similar to that of my Chicago VPS. However, the download speeds to some locations are interestingly low. Maybe this will be fixed in the future. I/O is also somewhat higher for larger block sizes.

Unfortunately, IPv6 was not configured on this machine so I was not able to benchmark it.
